If you came to our Grand Re-Opening celebration, then you know that we were raising money to support The Cycle Effect. We’ll be continuing our support of this awesome non-profit throughout the summer and we’d love to share a little bit about them and why we’ve chosen to support them.
The Cycle Effect started in 2010 with the idea that young women should be able to participate in mountain biking no matter their background. Eight years later The Cycle Effect has become a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helps girls to success through competitive mountain biking.
Girls ages 12-18 are recruited for teams in Eagle and Summit county. They are provided with bikes and gear through sponsorships and donations. The girls are taught about nutrition, physical fitness, life skills such as goal setting and time management, and leadership skills. They are also provided with opportunities to engage in the community through volunteering. All of these things create an important foundation for college readiness.
We look forward to working with this awesome group, and there are lots of ways you can help too! Check out their website (http://thecycleeffect.org/) for more information on sponsorship and volunteering, and follow them on Facebook to stay up to date on events and important info.
